FAQs

74Is Flower Angels USA a charitable organization? Are you non-profit?

Yes. We are a 501c3 charity. Every dollar we raise goes directly to supporting our mission.

Will my donation leave the Cape?

No. 100% of your donation stays right here on Cape Cod. We are proudly a small, local group.

Do I get a tax deduction for donating my flowers?

Donating your “gently used” flowers to a Flower Angels USA (a 501c3 charitable organization) is tax deductible as allowed by law.

Your name is Flower Angels USA. Are you part of a national organization?

No. We are a completely local organization. Flower Angels USA was founded by Suzanne Carter who has run businesses on Cape Cod for decades.

She was visiting her friend Karen in Florida and volunteered with Karen and a group delivering “recycled” flowers to hospitals. Suzanne saw how much joy there was in this simple act and was inspired to bring the mission here. She named her organization Flower Angels USA.

We get no funding or support from any outside groups. Run by Cape Codders, supported by Cape Codders, for Cape Codders.

Where do you get your flowers?

Lots of places!  Brides, and our floral partners; Trader Joes and Shaws Supermarkets (Orleans, Yarmouth, Hyannis and West Main Street).  And yes, we take flowers from funerals and memorial services.

Rather than let all that gorgeousness go to waste, we will happily “recycle” your flowers into new bouquets.

I am a florist / store manager / event planner / wedding coordinator and would like to find out more about donating flowers.

We would be happy to talk with you. We are anxious to get our message out to people who are in a position to advise their customers about how their floral arrangements can brighten lives even after the event is over.

Happiness-by-Flower-Angels-USAHow does someone get on your list for a delivery?

All patients are chosen by nurses and caregivers.  Patients served by Flower Angels USA include people who wouldn’t normally receive flowers, are forgotten about, haven’t had visitors, and are without friends and family to visit.

We actively work with nurses, caregivers, nursing homes, and hospice centers to find people who need us. If you work with patients and can help us identify people who need a little “floral love” then please contact us.

Do I need to be a florist or have experience with flower arranging?

We hear it all the time from our volunteers “I have NO artistic skills! I have never arranged flowers before…” Doesn’t matter. We will walk you through the process. It’s easy – and you will have fun!

You will also meet some amazing people. We have fun, we encourage and support each other. It’s a great group. Come be a part of it!

Is Flower Angels USA a florist?

No. We are flower “recyclers.” Our goal is to work with florists as our partners.

We gather donated flowers that are destined for the trash and recycle them so that can cheer patients who would otherwise not have fresh flowers. We turn trash into treasure.

I still have questions. Who can I talk to?

Call our office (508-280-9869) or send us an email (grace@flowerangelsusa.org). We will be happy to help you and answer any questions.
